Hoops for Hope March 14
Gear Up Now! A Fun Women's Charity Basketball Tournament for All Levels.
 Hoops for Hope is coming up on Sunday March 14 at the McCann Recreation Center at Marist College in Poughkeepsie. Check-in is at 8:30 AM, and the games start at 9:00 AM.
Hoops for Hope is a 3 on 3 women's charity basketball tournament that
raises funds for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation. Play,
volunteer or come cheer us on! Free admission for spectators.
It's not too late to register a team. The registration deadline is Thursday, March 11 at midnight. In order to prevent game day chaos, all teams must pre-register by the registration deadline - sorry, no exceptions.
Each year we dedicate our efforts to honor an individual who
exemplifies the spirit of our event. This year, we will play in memory
of Mary Clay, who lost her battle with breast cancer in November, 2008.
Mary's work as the New York University Athletics Department Business
Manager coincided directly with the great surge of women's sports at
NYU, including women's basketball, and across the country. She worked
at the university from 1980 to 2006, when she took a leave of absence
to focus on her family and her health. Mary was sweet, smart and tough,
and was described by many as a pleasure to work with. Her bright smile
and care left a lasting mark on the New York University community and
the students she served. Mary was a long term resident of
Pleasantville, Westchester County who was active in her community as
well.
